AOI Secret London, Serco Prize Submission

This is my submission for the Association Of Illustrators competition to illustrate secret, lesser known or hidden parts of London’s culture, history or geography. I chose London’s Southbank, which includes many important cultural landmarks, for example The National Theatre, The Haywood Gallery, Tate Modern and Oxo tower which are shown in the illustration. I touched on the hidden aspect by including the beach opposite Gabriels Wharfe, which can come as quite a surprise when you first come across it. I’ve included a boy making sand castles and a mudlarker as additional hidden characters in a surprising and surreal place in London.
